We are pleased to extend this exciting opportunity to join our team as a Casual Funeral Services Operative. The position is based in Haverhill, but you will be required to travel over a wide area using our specialist private ambulances. Hours are varied and no two days will be the same. There is potential to work around other commitments, and you will be added to the on-call rota which will include some evenings, nights and weekends.
What Day-to-Day would look like:
Bringing people’s loved ones into our care from hospitals, care homes, hospices and residential addresses.
Transferring people’s loved ones from our mortuary to crematoriums.
Driving our specialist private ambulances.
Assisting with tasks in the mortuary such as fitting coffins.
Building relationships with industry colleagues.
Communicating with colleagues, clients, stakeholders and industry colleagues via telephone and face-to-face.
Preparing and maintaining excellent standards of vehicle cleanliness for our funeral fleet.
Taking part in our on-call rota (This is dependant on individual rotas).
Assisting with ad-hoc tasks as required by the team.
You will need to:
Have a full UK manual driving license
-Be emotionally resilient as well as sympathetic, caring and supportive in sensitive situations.
-Be a ‘people-person’- committed to exceptional customer service.
-Be reliable, trustworthy and have a great work ethic.
-Have good organisational and time management skills.
-Be able to work as part of a team including having good communication skills.
-Be comfortable with lone working.
-Be physically fit, as some heavy lifting is required (in accordance with manual handling procedures).
No experience is needed; comprehensive training is provided in-house. All you need is a genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional customer service, a caring and empathetic nature, a good level of physical fitness and the ability to legally drive our company vehicles.
Driving and Manual Handling are also key aspects of this role, therefore a Full Manual UK Driving License and a high level of physical fitness are essential.
